Magena
Funny little tortie joined us in July 2013 along with her 4 siblings when just a few months old. She grew to become a loving beauty. A favorite activity of hers was – every day, like clockwork, while preparing kitty meals and my attentions were on the task, Magena would sneak up and nip me on my calf, as if I were not moving fast enough.
Magena loved the catio and would spend mornings out in a hammock when possible. She enjoyed movie nights, crowded onto my lap along with her roomies for a purring snooze fest.
On May 12, 2022, 9:40 am, Magena passed. She was having dental surgery and had a bad reaction to anesthesia.
Magena was a sweet soul with lots of attitude, we miss her greatly.
Mama April
Mama April enjoyed doing her own thing. She was diminutive in size with a graceful personality and was very affectionate when the spirit moved her
April passed September 4, 2021 due to complications from surgery.
Mama April played an important role in the start of Wild Whisker Inn. It was a sad state of affairs when she was shunned by one rescue group and abandoned by the person who trapped her. She joined us in September 2011 along with 14 other cats and kittens from a large feral colony near the airport.
April was a welcome, important member in our troupe and well loved.
Our hopes are that these past 10 years she shared with us along with her cat family was the wonderful life she deserved to live.
Moki This sweet dilute tabby joined us in July 2013 along with her 4 siblings - they were only a few months old. Shy at first, Moki grew to be an affectionate, loving cat. She was well at home with our family. The catio was a favorite of hers. Moki and her sister, Magena would catnap after a strenuous morning of bird-watching. Moki passed on April 15, 2021 a few days after she fell ill with complications from lymphosarcoma. Her warmth and indomitable spirit will always be with us. |
Demi
A small startup rescue in Lime Lake area contacted me for some help in August 2014. A year old female, Demi, had been abandoned outside when the owner moved away. I took her in, spayed/vaccinated and juggled some kitties around to fit another lost soul.
Demi had a determined personality, and preferred doing her own thing rather than with others. A foster home invited Demi into their lives in March 2017 and she has been part of the loving home since.
Not long ago, Demi developed a tumor in her mouth. She passed away February, 2021
Mama Coco
Our grand matriarch, Coco, passed on Sept. 4, 2020.
I met Coco when she was dropped off by another rescue's volunteer - along with a crew of cats and kittens from a colony near the Buffalo Airport in the fall of 2011.
Coco was a polydactyl with a go-with-the-flow personality. Despite her feral beginnings, it took little time for her to warm up to a new person.
She took her role as mother seriously, earning her the moniker "Mama Coco," and minded the behavior of the younger ones when they got too aggressive with another sibling.
Though I was not able to find Coco a human companion of her own, she was a welcome member of our home. I know we made a difference in her life... her insistence for affection and purrs was evidence enough of that.
She showed us and the world that ferals can learn to love and trust, and that they deserve a chance to do so. Coco was much loved and will be missed.

Fibber McGee
Fibber, his 2 siblings and mother, Molly were trapped in Bowmansville early June 2014. The 'inn' was full, so the young family had to nest in a Taj Mahal of a rabbit hutch for several weeks before joining the others.
Fibber grew into a handsome, somewhat talkative young adult with a quirky behavior that reminded me of a little boy. He was shy of new people and had gone through several foster homes before meeting his soul mate.
Along with his brother Harrison, Fibber was adopted into a loving home in July 19, 2018. Fibber passed on August 24, 2019 - we suspect he suffered a grand mal seizure.
Jerry
A long time resident, Jerry, passed on January 10, 2019. Earlier in 2018, cancer was discovered in his mouth. Jerry was a trouper - the cancer did not seem to slow him down or damper his daily activities.
Jerry joined us in October, 2011 along with his brother, Ben. A volunteer from another rescue had asked if the two boys could stay with our group until a home was found, because the rescue group was planning to release the then 6 month old kittens to a barn home. After some time had passed and with some insistence, Ben was brought back to the rescue where he was adopted. Jerry waited with us for the day that he too would be allowed a home of his own.
WWI Cat House cats were happy to share the past 7 years with Jerry and we are proud to have had him as part of our family.
